Physician Assistant – Cardiovascular
Provides independent and advanced professional patient care through assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation. Functions under surgeon’s direction in providing perioperative and operative care to the Cardiothoracic surgical patients to include:
- Detailed history and physical
- Pre-operative care
- Saphenous vein harvest (open and endoscopic)
- Radial artery harvest (open and endoscopic)
- First assistant
- Central Line placement (IJ&CS)
- Swan placement
- Arterial line placement
- Chest tube placement
- Removal chest tubes, pacing wires and JP drains
- Post op care to include ICU management, daily rounds and discharge summary and planning.Your Decision
