Job Description Manages all activities of the pre-sales resources. In conjunction with sales and Services management develops strategies to direct resources toward the largest and most profitable EMC opportunities. As a business partner with sales management, manages the organizational effectiveness, efficiency, and alignment of all technical resources with clear services bookings and product revenue goals. Provides advice and counsel to sales management in the effective use and deployment of technical resources. Must maintain close alignment with sales and Services Delivery management.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESManages the daily activities of individual contributors and team leads as well as providing guidance to the TC community. Has operational focus in area of technical expertise and is able to leverage EMC technologies within the account base while maintaining a strong customer focus. Effectively manages escalations and follows through until successfully resolved. Maintains understanding of services business and has responsibility for driving services business to customer base.Has accountability for results in terms of expenses, customer satisfaction, employees, programs, function or products and services. Fully accountable for all people-management activities for subordinate staff and responsible for establishing goals and objectives for department.Decisions or failure to achieve results will add to cost and may impact the short-term goals of the organization. Manager must coordinate with Sales to insure accurate pipeline and supply accurate services forecasting.Works on issues of diverse scope. Co-ordinates the activity of workgroup through utilizing operational policies to obtain solutions.Has broad technical expertise and strong customer account focus as necessary to manage escalations from TC community.Frequently interacts with direct reports, outside customers, and functional peer groups at management levels. Conducts presentations of technical information concerning specific projects/ schedules. Facilitates cooperation. Communicates organizational and functional strategy and translates it into team goals.Often works across functions for example MSS management, Sales, and TSS using influence and problem solving to resolve critical customer issues.Often interacts with senior level contacts at customer to win major deals. Determines the appropriate engagement of internal management (eg. Sr TCM, Area Manager, etc.) as required to close the deal. Must effectively interact with sales including sales business operations to insure team and goal alignment. Responsible for managing a pipeline in product led services and must lead and manage the TC community for the quarterly services revenue objective.Typically responsible for a several districts or large area.SKILLSAbility to manage in a matrix environment.Ability to lead, motivate and direct a workgroup.Customer focused.Possesses strong product/technology/industry knowledge.Proficiency in hardware, software and/or operating systems environments.Results driven.Project management skills.
