Essential duties to include, but are not limited to: Oversees investigations of alleged Medicare fraud for the TrustSolutions jurisdiction. Coordinates the prioritization, focus, law enforcement interactions, communications, and reporting of investigations with the Fraud Investigation Leadership staff. Oversees the development of cases to be referred to the Offices of the Inspector General, suspensions of Medicare payments and coordinating the need for specialized physician consultants. Coordinates department representation as expert witnesses in formal discussions with provider’s attorneys and in fraud and/or abuse cases, both out-of-court and in court. Coordinates with the Data Informatics (DI) Manager to facilitate the exchange of data as well as system and applications support for the Fraud Investigations units. Works with the Fraud Investigation Leads, the Medical Management and Proactive Project Manager, and the DI Management staff to facilitate the maintenance of a fraud case database and the preparation of all required monthly, quarterly and ad hoc reports for internal use or for CMS. Monitors quality and recommends alternate solutions to problems. Facilitates in interview of fraud suspects. Provides depositions on civil cases. Ensures compliance with all laws & legislation governing investigations. Administers undercover operations and activities. Identifies and assists in initiating new business for TrustSolutions and directs and/or helps to create business proposals to obtain new business and/or funding to further the unit’s goals and support new initiatives. Actively sponsors ISO initiatives and processes and supports ISO work teams. Maintains excellent rapport with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies and develops and maintains networking opportunities. Management duties to include hiring, training, coaching, counseling and evaluating performance of direct reports. Performs other duties as assigned.

BA/BS and 5+ years in investigations, to include a leadership role, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Three years previous management and/or senior leadership experience in increasingly complex operating environment is preferred. Previous experience working with, interpreting, and applying procedures for Medicare fraud investigations, medical review, and law enforcement interaction along with demonstrated applicable technical knowledge and skill is highly desired. Professional designation preferred. Excellent written, oral communication, and negotiation skills needed. Analytical, planning, and organizational skills required. PC capabilities also required.
