Sr. Capacity Planning Consultant In this key role you will partner with senior business leaders to identify staffing and financial implications of organizational, process and technology changes within your assigned business group.
Serve as a liaison between operations and finance while utilizing your solid finance and operations experience to provide recommendations and guidance to assigned business leaders.
Provide operational cost benefit analysis and guidance for internal business units and other United Health Group segments in a manner which effectively establishes, implements, and communicates departmental objectives.
This individual will be responsible for capacity planning for Network Operations.
Position will also develop new models to understand capacity requirements by researching key activities and drivers.
Innovation will be a key attribute of the successful candidate, as development of a capacity plan is integral to undestanding the business and operational needs.
Positions in this function conduct and manage outcomes of various studies that include analyzing, reviewing, forecasting, trending, and presenting information for operational and business planning.
Partner with and matrix to Senior/Executive Management to provide operational control over capacity planning, cost/benefit analyses, project prioritization, and other analytic initiatives.
Support UHC Operations and Corporate by developing Group budgetary and labor efficiencies.
Develop/deliver presentations of functional area materials for use by Executive Management.
Evaluate and perform risk analysis on capacity assumptions including overall and site-level workload, technology initiatives, and facilities utilization.
Additional duties include the support of short and long term operational/strategic business activities – by developing, enhancing and maintaining operational information and models.
Also, develop and implement effective/strategic business solutions through research and analysis of data and business processes.
Develops innovative approaches.

- 7+ years in-depth process, analytic, and technical background – BA/BS Degree in business/related field or equivalent experience – 5+ years experience with short/long range planning and complex data models with proven ability to assess cost/benefits – 5+ years experience in high volume call center and/or back office experience, preferably within healthcare or insurance industry – Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong business relationships.
- Extensive experience in handling complex operations and finance issues that may have division or Company wide scope -Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Intermediate to Advanced skills with Powerpoint, Excel, WORD Required – Models ethics and integrity – Demonstrated ability to make sound business decisions – Demonstrated ability to think strategically and plan and anticipate changes in the environment – Ability to project manage – Demonstrated negotiation and influencing skills; demonstrated ability to manage large-scale programs across multiple operating areas – Strong customer focus.
